Lorenzo Protocol Elevates Points System With Key Upgrades

TL;DR: Lorenzo points will now be awarded exclusively to current stBTC holders and users, not initial stakers, to better incentivize active participation and stBTC growth. DeFi multipliers are also coming soon, and all previously earned points will remain unaffected.

As the stBTC ecosystem evolves, we remain committed to aligning our rewards system with the active participation of our users. In this spirit, we are implementing a key update to Lorenzo points distribution, shifting the focus toward rewarding current stBTC holders. This ensures that users engaging in the Bitcoin DeFi landscape are properly incentivized to continue supporting the network.

Moving forward, to enhance our alignment with the Lorenzo community and nurture the growth of stBTC, Lorenzo points will be distributed exclusively to current stBTC holders and users, rather than just the initial stakers.

This means that if, for example, User A receives stBTC from Lorenzo and transfers all of it to User B, only User B will earn Lorenzo points (assuming User A holds no other stBTC). For stBTC holders who are engaging in activities across the BTC DeFi landscape, you’ll still earn points even when stBTC is not under your direct custody:

Additionally, we are excited to announce the upcoming launch of DeFi multipliers in the points system, aimed at increasing the use of stBTC in DeFi activities. Stay tuned for more details in upcoming announcements!

Outside of the upgrades mentioned above, all other points rules will remain unchanged for now.

Please Note: Your previously earned points will not be affected by this change — keep all the points you’ve already earned!

Overall, this revamped points system ensures that users actively holding and using stBTC continue to benefit from the rewards program.

Happy staking!

FAQs

1. How can I earn points after the points system updates to 2.0?

Points can only be earned by holding stBTC. To acquire stBTC, you can either:

  1. Stake BTCB/BTC to Lorenzo to receive stBTC
  2. Purchase stBTC through a DEX or other DeFi protocols

2. How will previously staked BTC points be calculated after the update to 2.0?

Points earned through staking will no longer increase; they will be converted to points based on holding. If staking users do not make additional transactions, their points will remain the same as before.

Example:

  • If a user deposited 1 BTC ten days ago and earned 1500 points daily, they would have a total of 15,000 points.
  • After converting to points 2.0, if they hold 1 stBTC, they will still earn 1500 points daily.
  • If they sell or transfer 0.1 stBTC, their points will be calculated based on 0.9 stBTC: 1500 x 0.9 = 1350 points per day.
  • If they buy or receive 0.1 stBTC, their points will be calculated based on 1.1 stBTC: 1500 x 1.1 = 1550 points per day.

3. Will I still earn points if I participate in the DeFi system with stBTC?

Yes, and participating in the DeFi system will provide a higher multiplier compared to simply holding.

Specific details will be announced later — stay tuned!

4. How often will the status be updated after the points system updates to 2.0?

User holdings will be updated every 24 hours.

5. How will points activities be updated in relation to wallet campaigns after the points system updates to 2.0?
